Nonwoven

Incombustible and wide range of temperature resistance

Needle-punched nonwoven out of basalt is a non-combustible insulation material (Class A1) with a temperature resistance ranging from -260 °C to +750 °C. It is made out of natural basalt fibers only using a needle-punched nonwoven technology. The used basalt fibers have a continuous filament diameter of 13 µm to 17 µm and are not respirable. With an insulation thickness of only 8 mm, a thermal conductivity of 0,031 W/mK is achieved. This is only possible because of the high density of the nonwoven fabric (130 kg/m³). This outstanding insulation effect combined with the low thickness opens up a range of possibilities both for industrial insulation as well as insulation of the residential buildings. The interior insulation of buildings does not need much space so that there is more room for living. The same applies to exterior and roof insulation.

Considering the moisture absorption, needle-punched nonwoven insulation out of basalt does not have any problems and does not rot because they do not contain any phenolic additives in the insulation. Since there are no additives, in case of a fire, the flames do not release any toxic substances.

An insulation material consisting of the natural product basalt fibers only, is to be considered as environmentally friendly.

Needle-punched nonwoven out of basalt is manufactured in rolls with a width of 1 meter and a running length of 10 meters. The 10m²-rolls are easy to handle and easy to attach to different surfaces. With the density of 1kg/m², each roll weighs 10 kg.
