Turbobuild dispergate

higher bending and tensile strength and reduced tendency to crack

Dispersible basalt fibers were invented by the DBF GmbH to reduce the shrinkage cracks in screeds. These fibers are to be seen as substitutes to the commonly known polypropylene fibers.

To produce dispersible fibers, basalt fiber roving is produced with specific sizing and fibers are chopped to different lengths ranging from 4 mm to 48 mm.

The sizing enables the dispergating of fibers in filaments when water is added to the concrete so the single filaments of the roving lose their compound structure.

That is why the separated filaments can mix homogeneously with the fresh concrete and this in turn results in a reduction of the shrinkage in the screed. As a result, bending, tensile strength and surface quality of the concrete are increased and the surface quality of the concrete component is improved. Dispergated fibers are great for mixing with fresh mortars, screeds and similar cementitious matrices.

Dispersible fibers: shrinkage effect

It was demonstrated that dispergated fibers reduced the shrinkage at a fiber content of 0,125 vol.% to 0,25 vol.% by 25 % to 60 %.
